About the Artist

Jason Bailey is an impressionist painter who is drawn to light and shadow in the landscape. He often paints small town street scenes, city scenes, along RR tracks or along the rivers, where he can get a variety of man-made and organic subject matter. Always looking for the beauty in the mundane.  Spending the majority of his time painting outdoors from life, he has learned to capture light and atmosphere on canvas. His main focus in his paintings is to capture the energy of the scene with values, composition and textures.

"I want to capture the soul of a place, a presence or state of being in my work. Looking for the quiet in the noise. There is constant movement in life, which can be subtle, I want that shown. The splatters, squiggles, bold brush strokes ,and thick palette knife work is how I see the world in paint."
